ABOUT THE POEM
The poem is about a book I did for my O Level Literature exam in 2022 , Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This poem was about the protagonist of story, who is Guy Montag. The poem highlights some of the people he encounters in the story. This poem was made also for my Weighted Assessment in 2021
Fahrenheit 451
A man on the run
The man who started burning flames of ashes
And actually, takes a look
The man, Guy Montag
His game was burning books
Watching them burn was a pleasure
Performing his duty was always the same
A fireman for ten years
Never questioning his peers
Letting the man have no fears
Till one day
He met a girl named Clarisse
Opens up the man’s eyes to see
The true meaning of books and stories
Guiding the man to see light
Montag is concerned
The books he lit it was
And decides to take a peek
On each specific book
Mildred, a woman, his wife, does not care
Hopeless was she, staring blankly into the sea
Not caring about her husband
But only her television and thinking she’s smart
Beatty, a cold-hearted captain
Suspicious of Guy’s plan
Telling the man about the past
To ensure the man to eliminate books in a flash
